Kinomatic is an improvising ensemble, devising and performing sound and music for films. It brings together three Glasgow musicians: prolific guitar and dance collaborator Jer Reid (also of Sumshapes and dawson), multi-instrumentalist Cormac Lacey (formerly of film soundtrackers 3epkano) and multi-purpose drummer Roy Mohan Shearer (Inspector Tapehead, Scope and formerly dBass).

Formed in early 2015, the group debuted in May with a sensitive and evocative score for Japanese director Ozu’s post-war study, Record of a Tenement Gentleman. Following weeks of devising, the soundtrack was performed live in intimate surroundings in Glasgow to a very appreciative audience.
